La décima beta de Firefox 4 soluciona 500 errores

En Mozilla no pierden tiempo: hoy se ha liberado el público la décima beta de Firefox 4, la cuarta gran versión del navegador que ya le ha quitado el primer puesto a Internet Explorer en el ámbito europeo. Se puede descargar desde su web oficial para Mac OS X, Linux y Windows.

Esta nueva beta corrige más de 500 bugs al mismo tiempo que aumenta la estabilidad en todos los sistemas operativos. En Mac OS X, concretamente, deberíamos notar un menos consumo de recursos al visualizar contenido usando Flash. En cuanto a Windows, en esta beta aún no ha llegado pero habrá una reducción del tiempo de arranque del navegador a la mitad gracias a unas 20 líneas de código que pre-cargan la librería XUL en el sistema operativo de Microsoft.

Personalmente llevo usándolo todo el día a modo de prueba, y su rendimiento no está nada mal. He notado algunos errores como cuelgues completos del programa cuando plug-ins como Flash o Quicktime están en marcha, o incluso que los gráficos de la ventana se queden congelados hasta que otro elemento (como por ejemplo otra ventana) pasan por encima de ellos. De todas formas y aunque les quedan más detalles como estos por corregir, promete.

Si el calendario de lanzamientos se cumple, deberíamos tener la beta 11 dentro de pocos días, una release candidate para dentro de dos o tres semanas y la versión final a finales del mes que viene. Como siempre, podéis probar esta versión beta teniendo en cuenta que es una versión no recomendada para usar como navegador principal.
